CranioSacral Therapy ~~ Relaxation Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy is a time-tested technique that evaluates and corrects problems related to the craniosacral system. It is a gentle by hand technique that affects the very environment in which the brain and spinal cord function.

This manual therapy encourages the body’s natural healing mechanisms to improve the operation of the central nervous system, relieve the negative effects of stress, improve overall health and strengthen the body’s immune system.

The craniosacral system consists of membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround the brain and spinal cord. It extends from the bones of the skull, face and mouth, which make up the cranium, down to the sacrum, or tailbone area.An imbalance or restriction in this system can potentially cause any number of problems with the body’s nervous system.Treatment with this approach is non-forceful with the practitioner generally applying only five grams of pressure. This is roughly equivalent to the weight of a nickel.

CranioSacral Therapy is practiced worldwide by doctors and therapists of all known disciplines including, medical doctors, doctors of chiropractic medicine, doctors of Oriental medicine, psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, physical therapists, acupuncturists, massage therapists and other professional body workers.

Relaxation Therapy

Progressive relaxation, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), Systems Integration Therapy, Relaxation Motivation Facilitation Technique (RMF), are some of the techniques routinely used in stress management. Techniques such as craniosacral therapy and therapeutic massage can also be great stress relievers.
